An overview of the elements affecting the creation and perception processes of music and the formation of aesthetic criteria. Pythagoras and the music of the spheres, “ethos” in music, the Gothic period, church and music, opera, the Baroque period, the Classical period, Wagner, the interaction between classical and jazz music, approaches to music in the twentieth century, and musical analysis according to periodic aesthetic approaches.
