Dr. Mustafa İlter completed his Ph.D. in 2021 at Boğaziçi University, Institute of Atatürk Principles and History of Turkish Revolution, with a dissertation titled “Geç Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nda Devlet, Bürokrasi ve İktidar (1908-1913).” He served as a visiting researcher at Princeton University in 2019. He earned his M.A. in History from Sabancı University in 2014 and his B.A. from Boğaziçi University in 2012.
His research focuses on 19th- and 20th-century Ottoman history, world history, bureaucracy, and state theories. He has specialized in historical social network analysis and natural language processing within the scope of digital humanities.
Since 2023, he has been serving as Lecturer in the Department of General Culture Courses at İzmir Institute of Technology. Dr. İlter has published articles in international journals and contributed to research projects and conference presentations.
