TURK 202 – Turkish Language II
Course Contents:
The course aims to enable students to distinguish between written and oral expression types, effectively utilize oral and written communication methods, and develop habits of scientific, critical, interpretive, inquisitive, and creative thinking. It encompasses education focused on expression, definition, discussion, and narration in Turkish speaking and writing.
Weekly Topics:
Week 1: Literature knowledge and its hypothesis
Week 2: Literature knowledge and its hypothesis
Week 3: Analysis of selected poems, essays and works of fiction
Week 4: Expressions in Turkish, definition, discussion, formal discussion and spoken expression
Week 5: Practice in unprepared speaking and argumentation techniques
Week 6: Practice in prepared speaking and argumentation techniques
Week 7: Mid-term
Week 8: Verbal workouts for formal discussions
Week 9: Determination of main and side thought in any text
Week 10: Scientific and scholarly writing, reports and essays
Week 11: Scientific and scholarly writing, reports and essays
Week 12: Styles of writing and composition
Week 13: Practice and training in written Turkish for the purposes of exposition
Week 14: Seminar presentations
