This course is designed to introduce the students to written and oral communications in engineering. It provides the students with an overview of the communication skills that are essential to a successful career in engineering. Through realistic contextualized topics the course helps the students develop communication strategies necessary to meet professional requirements in work-life as professionals.
The purpose of this course is to support and guide students to plan and determine their careers in accordance with their abilities, skills, competencies, personalities, and knowledge. The course aims to introduce the students to different career paths, different working environments, different worklifes in various sectors-public corporations and institutions, private sector, academy, non-governmental organizations (NGOs)- and the variety of career opportunities in each different disciplines. Therefore, along with lectures, guest speakers are invited from among professionals in the private sector, public sector, academia, NGOs, as well as among entrepreneurs.

Introducing general informations ( figure, music, rhythm, traditional clothing, instruments ) about Traditional Dances in Turkey that parts of important subjects of Turkish Folklore.
This course provides an introduction to know about Turkish tradition according to differences in many parts of Turkey. It also introduces students to Turkish folklore that includes traditional dances, rhythms, costumes, musics ect. which are the main effects of dances. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to learn one specific Dance from all over the Turkey.( All kinds of Traditional Turkish Folk Dances.) and types of Turkish Dances.
Comparing differences and similarities between Traditional Turkish Dances and dances from different cultures regarding to figurative and rhythmic terms, instruments and staging. Teaching common dance figures.
Introducing the concepts, theories and types of painting art based on its principles. Being aware of the importance of paint art, a branch of fine arts on personal development and interdisciplinary communication. Developing visual communication skills and a multifaceted perspective. Gaining knowledge about painting art by learning the concepts and the theoretical basic level of methods and techniques of painting art. Learning basic level editing principles and elements of painting art. Comprehending painting art types according to techniques and structures and understanding the logic and main cultural structure in these painting types.

Causes and consequences of the Turkish Language Reform and language debates
The course focuses on the application of critical thinking and reading via selected literary texts and media content from well-known novels to popular TV shows and to blockbuster films. Critical reading practices will be designed around various themes such as alienation, tradition-modern dichotomy, class, gender, ethnicity and race, individual and society, technology and biopolitics, migration and so on.
Ways of maintaining successful relationships in various organizations, by introducing the structure, function and dynamics of social groups
What is the sociology of work? The course introduces the students to an overview of visual story-telling and the various ways in which a visual material is created and represented in visual culture (in illustrated periodicals, digital media, advertising material, photographs and films). After an introduction of the basic visual components and terminology, the course examines visual representations in their relations to the symbolic realm and as mediated reality in the light of Visual Communication Theories.
Introducing physiological and psychological mechanisms of visual perception by using samples from art objects and art history. Gaining basic knowledge of perception mechanisms and structures of visual art. Being aware of the diversity of visual perceptions leads to understanding a completely new culture of visual perception. These sports are trending and spreading to the masses all around the world and also many of these sports have become Olympic Sports as well. Detailed information are provided about surfing sports’ learning skills, equipment details, race types, and useful training information. Applied sessions are present in the lessons since IYTE’s geographical conditions are suitable and very rare worldwide. Environmental friendly features of individual water sports and performed without engines are emphasized and energy transformation from natural forces is discussed.
