SPRT 203 – Badminton

Course Content:

Historical development of badminton. Badminton in the world. Badminton in Turkey. Equipment used in badminton (badminton court, net, poles, racket, shuttlecock, clothing, shoes, auxiliary materials). Hitting and footwork techniques in badminton. Racket grip, basic stance position. Hitting zones and stroke types (high serve, short serve, flick serve, overhead smash, forehand overhead stroke, forehand underhand stroke, backhand underhand stroke, drive, net play). Footwork directions and techniques. Teaching of hitting and running techniques.

Week 9: Midterm Exam

Week 11: Net Play Training, Footwork Analysis, Student Presentation on the Structure of the Badminton Federation
Week 12: Training for Serve, Forehand, Backhand, Clear, Drop, Drive, and Smash Strokes, Student Presentation on Badminton Rules
